The
Crime Prevention Institute continues to prove that
incarcerated individuals provided with basic training
and assistance can become productive members of our
community.
We do this by working with incarcerated individuals
before and after they are released to prepare for and
find meaningful employment.

CPIs Case Management Philosophy
We believe in the inherent worth and dignity
of each individual client, no matter the crime or
past behavior.
We practice with a strengths perspective, focusing
on what a client can do and has the capacity to do,
rather than what their weaknesses, deficits, or limitations
may be.
We meet clients where they are psychologically,
accepting them as individuals with varied life circumstances
and varied needs and resources.
We meet clients where they are physically,
making every reasonable attempt to see them at their
places of residence and places of employment, making
it easy for them to access services and support.
We provide services using an active case management
approach, anticipating client needs and pitfalls,
following up by phone and in person, and continuing
to hold them to program expectations.
We value compassion toward clients balanced
with accountability and responsibility for their actions.
We expect more from them so that they may rise to
the occasion.
We know that the relationship between client
and case manager is the real tool for change, even
more so than the money, resources, or specific services.
Trust and rapport are the most important factors in
this relationship.
We know that working with this population is
difficult, and sometimes not as fruitful as we would
like. We commit to being our clients second,
third, and sometimes fourth chance to turn their life
around.
