CPI Launches New Pilot Project: Right at Home
August 25, 2009
Crime Prevention Institute (CPI) is pleased to announce its participation in a new community collaboration project called Right At Home. Right At Home is a homelessness prevention pilot project targeted at persons with a history of institutional care who either have chronic health maladies, substance abuse issues, mental health or developmental disabilities, or physical disabilities. Specifically, the effort will identify vulnerable populations who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and offer rapid re-housing funds and intensive case management.
The project is a two year grant-funded collaborative effort beginning in September 2009. Caritas of Austin is the lead agency for this collaborative, which also includes the Wright House Wellness Center, AIDS Services of Austin and CPI. The funding was awarded to Caritas of Austin by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA/the Stimulus Plan).
We at CPI are looking forward to being a member of this collaboration and are excited to begin serving our clients in an even more meaningful way in connection with other service providers in the Austin/Travis County community.
